Reception and concert at the People's Hall

Following the picnic, a grandiose reception is organized in the People's Hall on Tiananmen Square, the most sacred place in China.
For the first time, French, Spanish, or Russian artists set foot in China to participate in a unique musical encounter with Chinese artists.

The entire diplomatic corps is present, and the foreign press also covers this historic event. 

The Beijing National Orchestra accompanies the international artists who have come to support this cultural opening initiative initiated by the Chinese government. Mireille Mathieu, Montserrat Caballé, Mady Mesplé, Maia Plisetskaya, Manuel Legris, and Sylvie Guillem will be present. Throughout the evening, the performances of these exceptional artists will follow one another, creating an unforgettable spectacle.

The concert is broadcast throughout China by CCTV, the sole television channel at that time. The event will be rebroadcast numerous times on television.
